In Leon County, all individuals entering a business are required to wear a facial mask. However, the definition of the term ‘business’ is broad and includes government offices and mass transit as well. Therefore, the order issued by the county also includes places of worship like churches, where visitors must wear a mask unless they fit the requirements for an exception. The order also includes transportation businesses like rideshares and other passenger vehicles that are for hire.
All businesses are required to display signage at their entrance reminding visitors of the mask order. The standardised signs are available for download on the county’s website. Individuals who are exercising while maintaining social distancing don’t have to wear masks. As far as exceptions go, children below the age of six are not required to wear a mask. Those with pre-existing medical conditions that would have trouble breathing safely with a mask on also qualify for an exception to this rule.
